Exmouth
The Jaguars battling against a strong wind in the first half knew it was going to be hard pushing forward. Defenders Tinsley and Evans working hard to limit Exmouths attack to long range efforts by defenders, one of which clipped the crossbar. Jason Pope making his debut, always looked strong and dangerous up front, after one move involving Dye, Denny and Jones he fired home to open the scoring.
Playing with the wind after the break, in
a half which seemed to go on forever, more chances were created. The
second goal came after Toomey eased the ball from a Town defender sending in a
cross for Pope to score the final goal of the game.
Pushing forward looking for the opening
goal the Jaguars kept the Colts under pressure right from the start, but could
only manage to find the net through Pope in the first half. Jones, Dye and
Toomey added 3 more with goalie Cliffard-Harding a lone figure in the Brixington
half. Toomey then went in goal allowing Cliffard-Harding to move
forward to join the action upfront at least allowing him to have a touch on
the ball.
